Allow me to introduce myself

For the most part, I've kept this blog free of information about my personal life.  It's not that I'm paranoid, it's that I'm not really allowed to go into too much detail about what I do on a daily basis.  But there are some vague tidbits I can share.

First of all, I've mentioned several times that my internet situation at the moment is somewhat tenuous.  This is because I am currently onboard an aircraft carrier and sailing around the mediterranean.  I am enlisted in the US Navy and am enduring a 7 month cruise, supporting flight ops so that our pilots can drop ordinance on some jihaddin motherfckers.

This is my second cruise since I enlisted over 3 years ago.  I'll be getting out of the Navy in 8 months, and frankly, I can't wait to be a civillian again.  The Navy has done a lot of good for me.  It's gained me world experience, some free college classes, helped me save money, and will be paying for my school when I get out.  Over this cruise and the last, I've visited Brazil, Peru, England, Spain, Italy, Dubai, and the United Arab Empire.  I was onboard the Carl Vinson, which was the first responder to the earthquake in Haiti crisis.  On this cruise, I've taken a psychology class, an english class, and will be starting English Comp 2 soon.

But enough about work.  I'm 23 years old.  Like dogs, but love cats.  I like to write and draw.  I like video games and movies.  I'm learning to play the guitar.  And my first life's goal will be to ensure Humans colonize another planet so that the existence of our species is not at the mercy of a rogue asteroid.  My second life's goal will be to live forever, and my third life's goal will be to transcend time... but I'm taking things one at a time~

Sorry if you're one of the people whom I never seem to comment back to, there are a few of you whose comment boxes simply will not work for me =/  However, this cruise is over halfway done, and in a few months, I'll be far more active on my blogging.

I hope you've found this interesting.  I can't really tell you too much more about what I do.  If I did, I wouldn't have to kill you, but I'd probably get my internet priviledges revoked~

Much love,
clique

  4. Wow, did not see that one coming. My cousin was in the Navy and met her fiancee on there as well. This does explain the sporadic posts, but also the "longing" I sort of detect in your writings. Either way, it's still good stuff. Looking forward to more posts.

  6. What kind of things do you like to draw? lol, sry, as an art teacher, that part jumped out at me. I was in the Air Force for 4 years and couldn't wait to get out. I think it helped me a great deal, but I couldn't see myself as a lifer.

  7. Whoa. That is quite a noble cause to try to ensure the survival of the human species by colonizing other planets. I remember listening to this one brilliant Japanese scientist discuss how an interplanetary civilization, was a civilization that could avoid extinction, because of it's ability to travel to different worlds to perpetuate itself. He pondered that perhaps no civilization ever made it that far before destroying itself, and that's why we have never met aliens from other planets. But I can't remember the guy's name because he was Japanese and a difficult name to pronounce. Maybe you know who I am thinking of?

  8. Thanks for the comments! I think comments might work now, so I'm testing it here~

@Luna, the navy isn't that dangerous, hehe. If anyone was able to get past our jets, they'd still have to fight through a fleet of destroyers and cruisers and avoid our subs before they get to me :]

@MRanthrope, glad I could clear some things up.

@Otter, I mostly just doodle, I used to draw anime characters a lot, but more recently I've been sketching the realistic stuff~

@Jimmy, I'm glad you think so. If everybody thought so, we'd be closer to actually doing it~ The Japanese scientist sounds like Michio Kaku, the founded Super String Theory and has written a book called Physics of the Impossible. It's really good and they actually made it into a series that plays on the Sci Fi channel. Kaku takes various science fiction ideas, like force fields, invisibility, or death rays, and discusses how we could create them in the real world. He categorizes impossibilities into three categories. The first are things that are possible in the near future, the second are things that could exist in te distant future, and the third are things that are just flat out impossible by our known laws of physics. It's actually surprising how few things are flat out impossible, pretty much it's only Precognition and perpetual motion(infinite energy). Even teleportation and time travel are considered to be possible in the future :]
